Jill's birthday video
Concept suggestions
High level overview for 3 possible directions:
Option 1: Classics

Attributes: #wholesome, #warm, #fun.
  • Showing Jill growing up/morphing through life like on Tchenguiz/Maleki's video;
  • ~5 minutes edit of all friends and family videos celebrating Jill and how special their connection to her is.
  • The last part is a 2-3 min custom made AI song in a musical style with beautiful visuals based on real pictures Jill has throughout her whole life. We can make each member of a family "sing" their part of a song (no musical literacy or action on your part required đź’«)
Cost estimate: $8,000-$10,000
Option 2: Interstellar
Attributes: #wholesome, #warm, #fun #interstellar.
It will use all the best parts from the ''Option 1 classics'' but also have a bit of a multi-dimensional approach where we bend real life with simulation and break the fourth wall.
Since you'll be showing this in Athens, it could be interesting to bend reality a bit with a self-fulfilling prophecy…
Imagine the movie starts showing your family celebrating in the exact same spot where you're currently watching it, and depicts you handing her a wrapped gift. She's about to open it, but then suddenly she turns to the camera/viewers (you all watching it together) and says something along the lines: ''Jill, before you open your gift… let me show you the journey that wrapped it.'

And the movie goes to her earliest days, depicting key milestones... Early years in America, moving to the UK, meeting Paul, career, philanthropy, etc.
It can be a fusion of genres, from hero drama to comedy and theatre/musical. With hero soundtracks by the Waterboys and Love Affair.
It ends with a wholesome personalised OST song, the screen goes black, and now you stand up and give her real,  exactly the same wrapped gift that was depicted at the very beginning of the movie!
Cost estimate: $10,000-$12,000
Option 3: Jill's life is a theather that touched many lives
Attributes: #wholesome, #warm, #fun #absolute cinema
While this option will use all the best parts from the ''Option 1 classics'', we also wrap it into a ''Jill's life is a theather that touched many lives'' concept + combine it with real-life cinematic footage at an epic location.
  • Real cinematic video: the scene starts in an empty theatre where a young girl is standing against the empty auditorium. Slowly one by one people start to arrive and take their seats. Then a man enters the auditorium and with the light pointing at him he takes a seat at the first row. They smile at each other.
  • We show Paul sharing how he met Jill and how she changed his life forever. We capture this shot in the actual theatre auditorium.
  • Then we show the mix of all the wishes, stories of how friends met Jill, what she means for them. (maybe through projector that shines into stage's wall) Occasionally showing more people coming in and taking their seats in the auditorium. Ending with the warm note.
  • This scene in the theatre is a metaphor of Jill's life — how many people joined her in life and they all look up to her, are inspired by her.

Please see below a very rough storyboard that can hopefully help visualize the idea a bit better.

    Cost estimate: $16,000-$20,000
Option 3. "Jill's life is a theater that touched many lives" rough storyboard
1. Opening shot
We open with a girl standing in the empty auditorium in a theatre shot from behind her. All seats are empty.
2. Jill is growing up
While we do morphing animation of Jill growing up we play early stories from people who grew up with her and periodically jumping from theatre shot to their video wishes.
3. Paul video
We shot Paul in the theatre talking about how he met Jill and how she changed his life.
4. Daughters video
We then show the video we shot in the same theatre of daughters. We can add other family members of course.
5. Jill's reaction
By the time we finish showing every friend's video and your family theatre segment, Jill is now her current age, looking at all of the people that make her life special.
6. Ending
The theatre is full of people from Jill's life.
(We will have to figure out how to do it as we imagine bringing so many people from her life is suboptimal so we'll either edit it smartly with AI or use background actors and set up the lighting in a way that you can't distinguish the faces but you can see the full auditorium of people)
How we work
  • The concepts provided here are high-level overview suggestions and we never lock the exact script. You are more than welcome to provide any feedback or special requests now or later as we progress and we're happy to try to accommodate that so long as it retains more or less within the agreed scope.
The whole nature of our work is quite fluid because it involves a lot of experimentation with the bleeding edge technology and relies on a lot of happy accidents where some issue or artifact might give us ideas, and these ideas will form into interesting concepts. Plus there are breakthroughs in AI every couple of weeks now which we typically adopt immediately.
  • We don't have reviews limit. We simply want to make the best, most sincere and touching video possible. You know Jill the best, so we are happy to do tweaks/changes for it to feel perfect for you.
  • There is no bad/lazy option among these 3. While the costs differ due to resources involved such as extra AI compute, extra complexity, shooting venue hire, etc. — we give our full love & attention no matter what option you pick. Our livelihood lives off recommendations from people like you to your family, friends and shareholders, so we make sure we make our best work.
No matter what option you choose to go with, we guarantee beautifully made video that emphasizes all the love your family and friends share towards Jill.
  • Payments structure: initial 50% deposit to fund the production, remaining 50% once the whole thing is ready and you're 101% happy with what we made together!

Please let us know your thoughts when you have a moment, and if you want to keep exploring the concepts, we are more than happy to!
